C5 hydrogenated petroleum resin is made from the C5 fraction of ethylene cracking as raw material, and is formed by cationic polymerization of dienes and monoenes in the C5 component. The density is around 1.0, and C5 hydrogenated petroleum resin is easily soluble in organic solvents such as benzene, toluene, xylene, and various types of solvent oils, but not in water.

C5 hydrogenated petroleum resin is a granular solid with a white or yellow appearance, which is fragile and prone to dust generation. It is non-toxic and odorless, and is a non flammable and explosive substance. C5 hydrogenated petroleum resin has good viscosity, compatibility, thermal stability, and photostability, and can improve the adhesive performance of adhesives. It is an essential tackifying component for many adhesives.

C5 hydrogenated petroleum resin is widely used in industries such as thermosols, pressure sensitive adhesives, structural and decorative materials in the construction industry, automotive assembly, tires, commodity packaging, book and magazine binding, hygiene products, shoe making, hot soluble road marking paint, colored asphalt, etc.
